Baked Apple Slices or Apple Sauce

Candies, cakes, and cookies etc are always tempting but not the best things for you when you are sick. If you are craving something sweet, I recommend this healthy dessert which is very simple to make.

Ingredients:

-4 peeled and sliced apples
-1/4 teaspoon (1.25 ml) of ground cinnamon

Recipe and cooking instructions:

-Place the 4 peeled and sliced apples into a pan, and pour water until all the fruit pieces are covered.

-Bring to a boil and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the apple pieces are soft. Use a fork to check.

-Turn off the burner, and pour the content of the pot into a drainer to let all the water out.

-Place the cooked apples into a medium sized bowl.
(If you prefer apple sauce, simply mash the cooked apples at this point.)

-Add 1/4 teaspoon (1.25ml) of ground cinnamon.

-Mix apples and cinnamon together.

-Serve in small individual bowls as snacks.

(The apple slices or apple sauce is also great as a side dish with pork chops.)
